In 1977 Caribe Industrial System, Inc. (CISI) was founded by Warren C. and Donna E. Gundry in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Warren, a twenty five (25) year veteran of the Signode Corporation in Glenview, Illinois, was offered the opportunity to become the Signode Distributor in Puerto Rico and other islands in the Caribbean.

Through the years, Caribe Industrial has become an acknowledged leading distributor for renown suppliers such as ITW Signode, Nordson Corporation, Cryovac Corporation, Intertape Polymer Group, ITW Angleboard and National Starch and Chemical.

CISI serves all major manufacturing sectors of the island such as pharmaceuticals, medical device, food and beverage, electronics as well as others.

In 1989,  Paul Gundry, Warren and Donna's son, joined the Company.  Paul had worked for the Nordson Corporation in a territory based in Seattle, Washington. Paul brought nine (9) years of sales experience and Nordson product knowledge to CISI.  Since then, Paul has worked with all of the equipment distributed by CISI, as well as the packaging materials.

Throughout the 90's, CISI's growth continued with the addition of more companies such as FlexSol Packaging, Sigma Stretch Film, E.J. Brooks Co., Clamco Corp. and Marsh Label Technologies.

In November 2003 and January 2004, the Company suffered a great loss with the passing of it's founders, Warren C. and Donna E. Gundry, respectively.  Warren and Donna were a true love story, dedicated for 54 years in life and now, forever after.  They will surely be missed, but Caribe Industrial Systems will continue into the future, as they would want.   Paul was named President and has the commitment to carry on his parents' vision.
